01

Data controller

The controller responsible for processing personal data in connection with VANTIQ is UNIQ Cars GmbH, Schaffhauserstrasse 158, 8302 Kloten, Switzerland. You can contact us at info@vantiq.ch or on 044 545 84 42.

This Privacy Policy is based primarily on the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP). Where foreign data protection law is mandatorily applicable in an individual case, we also comply with that law.

02

What data we process

Depending on how you use our shop, we process in particular:

  • master and contact data, such as your name, billing and delivery address, email address and telephone number;
  • order and contract data, such as products, vehicle or tyre selection, prices, vouchers, delivery status, complaints and correspondence;
  • payment and transaction data, such as payment method, payment status, transaction reference and fraud screening; as a rule, we do not receive full card details;
  • account and communication data, such as login details, order history, saved addresses and information from forms, emails, telephone calls and support requests;
  • marketing data, such as newsletter registrations, consents, unsubscribes and responses to communications;
  • technical usage data, such as IP address, device and browser information, date and time, pages accessed, shopping cart, referrer, cookie and consent information, and log data.

Sources and purposes

We receive data mainly from you when you visit the shop, place an order, create a customer account, contact us, arrange an appointment or subscribe to the newsletter. We may also receive data from Shopify, payment service providers, shipping companies, suppliers, fitting partners, and fraud-prevention and address-verification services.

We use this data to operate the shop securely, process orders and payments, procure and deliver goods, carry out fitting or service appointments, provide customer service, meet legal obligations, improve our offers, send permitted advertising, and establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

03

Shopify and payments

Shopify

Our online shop is operated using Shopify. Shopify provides hosting, shop, checkout, customer account, analytics, security and administration functions in particular. For customer data from Switzerland, Shopify International Limited, Ireland, is generally a central contracting party; other Shopify companies and subcontractors may also be involved.

Shopify processes some data on our behalf and some for its own purposes described in Shopify’s privacy notices, such as security, fraud prevention and its own services including Shop and Shop Pay. Data may be processed in Switzerland, the European Economic Area, Canada, the United States and other countries. Further information is available in Shopify’s privacy notices.

Payments

Payments are processed through Shopify Payments or the payment service providers shown at checkout. Depending on the payment method, Shopify, card-issuing banks, card networks, TWINT, Apple, Google, Klarna, PostFinance, PayPal or other payment providers may receive the data required for payment, authentication, fraud prevention, refunds and dispute resolution.

As a rule, we see only the information required for payment status, allocation and processing, not full card or login details.

04

Delivery, customer account and support

For procurement, shipping and delivery, we transfer the necessary data to suppliers, warehouse operators, shipping companies and logistics providers. If goods are shipped directly by a supplier or to a fitting location, the relevant partner receives the contact, product and, where applicable, vehicle data required for that order.

For a customer account, we process login details, addresses, settings and order history. When you contact us, we use the information you provide to answer and document your request.

Newsletter and advertising

If you subscribe to our newsletter, we use your email address and, where applicable, your name to provide information about products and offers. You can unsubscribe at any time using the unsubscribe link or by emailing info@vantiq.ch. You will receive service communications relating to orders, security or contract processing regardless of whether you subscribe to the newsletter.

05

Cookies, analytics and Google services

You decide.

Necessary technologies keep the shop, cart and checkout running. We use optional analytics and marketing technologies in accordance with your choices in the privacy settings.

Google Analytics 4

We use Google Analytics 4 from Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland, to analyse usage, reach, technical performance and order journeys. The data processed may include pages accessed, events, approximate location, referrer, date and time, browser and device information, language, interactions, cart and purchase events, and pseudonymous user or device identifiers.

Google Analytics may use cookies such as _ga and _ga_<identifier>, which may have a lifetime of up to two years. Their use depends on your consent in the “Analytics” category. Based on our account settings, user-related event data is generally deleted after no more than 14 months; aggregated reports may be retained for longer.

Google Ads, Shopping and remarketing

We use Google Ads to place advertisements in Google Search, Google Shopping, YouTube and the Google advertising network and to measure their performance. The data collected may include the date and time, URL, ad click identifier, device and browser data, order value, currency and pseudonymous identifiers. Measurement cookies such as _gcl_au may be used for this purpose.

Where activated, Google Signals or remarketing may be used to create audiences, produce cross-device reports and show more relevant advertisements. These functions require your choice in the “Marketing” category.

Enhanced conversions

Where activated in our Google Ads or Shopify account and covered by your marketing consent, contact data collected by us, such as your email address, name, telephone number or postal address, may be hashed before being transferred to Google. Google uses this data to improve conversion attribution and measurement.

Google & YouTube for Shopify and Consent Mode

The Shopify “Google & YouTube” sales channel can be used to transfer product, price, inventory, shipping and shop information to Google Merchant Center and to connect Google Ads and Analytics to Shopify. The consent signals from the cookie banner tell Google the status of analytics storage, advertising storage, advertising user data and personalised advertising. If consent is refused, the relevant storage and personalisation functions are disabled; depending on the technical configuration, Google may receive limited, cookieless measurement signals.

Google may also process data in the United States and other countries. Further information and settings: Google Privacy Policy, My Ad Centre and the browser add-on for opting out.

06

Recipients and transfers abroad

Recipients may include in particular:

  • Shopify and its subcontractors;
  • payment, banking and fraud-prevention services;
  • suppliers and warehouse, shipping, logistics, workshop and fitting partners;
  • IT, hosting, email, analytics, marketing, support and accounting service providers;
  • authorities, courts, insurers and professional advisers where necessary.

Some recipients process data outside Switzerland. If a recipient is located in a country whose level of data protection is not recognised as adequate by the Swiss Federal Council, we generally use recognised contractual safeguards, in particular adapted standard contractual clauses, or rely on a statutory exception.

Automated checks

Payment and platform providers may automatically screen transactions for fraud and security risks. As a result, an order may be flagged for manual review or a payment method may be declined. The VANTIQ Index evaluates products, not people.

07

Retention and data security

We retain personal data for as long as required for the relevant purpose, contract performance, security or the enforcement of claims. Statutory retention obligations remain reserved. Order, invoice and accounting records are generally retained for ten years from the end of the relevant financial year.

We and our service providers take appropriate technical and organisational security measures, including access restrictions, encrypted transmission, logging, data backups and the security functions of the Shopify platform. No data transmission or storage is entirely risk-free.

08

Your rights

Under applicable data protection law, you may in particular request access, rectification, disclosure or transfer of certain data, as well as deletion or restriction of processing. You may withdraw consent with effect for the future and object to processing on legitimate grounds.

These rights may be restricted, for example because of statutory retention obligations, overriding interests or ongoing legal claims. To prevent abuse, we may require proof of identity.
